2012 Nobel Damsel Stakes Race Favorites

Dealbata - had a decent career in Europe - five starts there with three wins and a second place finish. She has just two North American starts - a win in the Mohegan Sky Stakes at Belmont on June 16 and a decent second last time out in the De La Rose Stakes at Saratoga behind Julie's Love. She is an interesting prospect in the Nobel Damsel for trainer Chad Brown and is the morning line favorite.

Julie's Love - also had an OK career in Europe before coming into her own once she arrived in North America where she has won three of four starts and finished third in the other. The British bred filly is a multiple group 1 winner in Europe who won an Allowance in her North American debut at Keeneland on April 20 and followed it up with an Allowance Optional Claiming score here on June 8. She followed that with a third in the Grade 3 Dr. James Penny Memorial Stakes at Parx in July behind Gitchie Goomie and Hessonite but bounced back last time out with an impressive win in the minor De La Rose Stakes at Saratoga August 4.

Nobel Damsel Stakes 2012 | Remaining Field Entries

Federation - British bred filly seeks her first stakes victory on Saturday for trainer Chris Clement. She has seven North American starts under her belt after a successful career in Europe. Those North American starts resulted in three wins including an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out at Saratoga, a second, a third and two fourth place finishes.

Naples Bay - is the other half of the coupled entry for trainer Chris Clement and is coming off a 4 1/4 length win last time out in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Monmouth Park on July 17 after a fifth in the Grade 3 Dr. James Penny Memorial at Parx on July 3. Naples Bay has three wins in nine career starts.

Silver Screamer - has won six of her last nine races - three of which were Allowance Optional Claiming races. She took a huge step up in competition and recorded an ultra-impressive win in the Grade 3 Eatontown Stakes on June 30 for her most impressive career result. Last time out was a fifth however in the Grade 3 Matchmaker Stakes at Monmouth on July 29. Silver Screamer is an intriguing sleeper and warrants some attention for the Nobel Damsel.

Kya One - will make her North American debut for trainer Chad Brown in the Nobel Damsel after mixed results in France. In 2012 she has just one win and a third place finish in five starts - that win coming against colts on April 5 in her native France.

La Cloche - most recently finished fifth in the De La Rose Stakes behind a few of her Nobel Damsel running mates to follow a good win in the Voodoo Dancer Stakes here on July 8. She has four wins in 16 career starts but has placed in two of her three starts in 2012 including that impressive win in the Voodoo Dancer.

Embarr - has raced five times in 2012 with four wins - three Allowance Optional Claiming including last time out and the minor Brookmeade Stakes at Colonial Downs on July 27 - the second time that she has won that race in her career. Her only blemish this year was a head scratching fifth in a Starter Allowance at Atlantic City in April.

Law of the Range - British bred filly is the last of the five European entries and will be making second North American start on Saturday after a sixth in her debut in the Grade 1 Diana Stakes at Saratoga on July 28. She last tasted victory in July 2011.
