Another weekend of graded stakes action is in the books - races took place all over North America this weekend with the biggest races taking place at Woodbine just outside of Toronto. Hawthorne Park in Cicero Illinois will be the scene of the Grade 3 Hawthorne Derby this Saturday, October 13. Three year olds will go 1 1/8 miles on Hawthorne's turf track in search of their portion of the $200,000 purse.
The 29th running of the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes takes place this Saturday, October 13 from Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky. Three year olds will be after their share of the $400,000 purse when they race 1 1/8 miles on Keeneland's turf track.
The 52nd running of the Grade 3 Knickerbocker Stakes goes down at Belmont Park this Saturday, October 13. Horses three years old and upward will race 1 1/8 miles on Belmont's turf track in search of their share of the $150,000 purse.
The Grade 1 JPMorgan Chase Jessamine Stakes comes our way from Keeneland this Thursday October 11. Two year old fillies will be features as they go 1 1/16 miles on Keeneland's turf track as they search for their share of the $150,000 purse.
